The workspace is the boundary of what the agent may touch. Once you pick a root, every file operation is confined inside it.

## Why a boundary

Without one, an agent can follow a relative path or `..` out of the project and edit unrelated files. Pinning a root keeps the risk inside a range you chose deliberately.

## Switching workspaces

Use a different root per project. After switching, new sessions use the new root; existing sessions keep their own paths.

## Listing directories

The `list` tool only expands directory trees inside the workspace. It helps you — and the agent — understand the project structure without blind searching.
